In June 2018 Heritage Line’s new Ginger will go on its maiden voyage in Lan Ha Bay, a still so unknown part of the famous Ha Long Bay. Stretching almost all around the Eastern coast of Cat Ba Island, Lan Ha Bay offers an amazing landscape of limestone pillars, tiny tree-topped islets and serene emerald green waters. Join our wonderfully crafted “Hidden Worlds” journey (2 days –  1 night) that offers a perfectly balanced voyage of relaxed cruising time paired with a distinct land tour and activities on board.

We depart around noon time and sail on a calm four-hour journey through the mystic Halong Bay, passing by an ancient lighthouse that was built by the French over 100 years ago until we reach our first destination – Cat Ba, the largest island in the bay. There, we hop on bikes for a vital cycling tour (30—45min) through jungle-clad mountains towards a charming village nestled in a valley. Meet and greet the friendly locals and get to know their daily work, see their homes and the village school.

Back on board, join our interactive cooking class in the panoramic restaurant to learn about the delicious Vietnamese recipes and dishes that you can then try at home. The evening program complements the day with a movie night on comfy loungers set up in the dining hall or with trying one’s hand at squid fishing with the crew.

The next day awaits with a refreshing Tai Chi session in the early morning to ease your muscles and mind for a fresh start into the day. After a hearty breakfast, we are ready and set for our morning excursion as we reach a secluded spot in Tra Bau. Perfect for paddling through a dreamy seascape with tree-topped islets around you in your own kayak or in a traditional bamboo boat. Savor these last moments in the magical Lan Ha Bay as the ship soon sails back to the pier.
