We, working in tourism, have the privilege of creating the most memorable travel experiences in the South East Asian region. But sometimes, we tend to forget that in this part of the world, millions often face struggles in their day to day lives. Heritage Line supports local projects in Cambodia along the Mekong, and in our last edition we shared the news about our medical cruise to northern Myanmar to deliver medical support to remote villages. Recently, Heritage Line had the opportunity to actively participate in another social project.
Every year, the charity organization, Rome based “Link for aid Children”, organizes a charity event in Yangon, Myanmar, in order to support underprivileged children. Heritage Line partnered up with this organization and contributed as one of the main sponsors to the event “Music for Myanmar”, held in the well-known Chatrium Hotel in Yangon, a 4-night cruise on the Ayeyarwady river for a live auction. Luckily, the bidding went very well indeed and the funds needed were raised and donated to the charity.
Congratulations to the winner! We are very much looking forward to welcoming them on board the Anawrahta next year. A massive ‘Thank you’ goes to the Chatrium Hotel for providing a wonderful stage for such a great event and of course, very special thanks to “Link for Aid” for providing the chance of this partnership. Stay tuned, more is on the way!
