Covid-19 Updates

Important Cruise & Travel Information

Please find destination specific information below regarding COVID-19-related travel and visa requirements, which will need to be handled before your cruise with Heritage Line.

  • Vietnam
    • Obtain your Vietnam visa at the Vietnamese embassy in your home country or apply for a 30-day Vietnam E-visa online (if applicable for your nationality)
    • Both visas are also valid for Mekong River border crossing between Cambodia and Vietnam (indicate the correct port of immigration: Song Tien Landport)
    • No COVID vaccine requirements for entering Vietnam. However, Heritage Line strongly recommends guests to be fully vaccinated with relevant number of booster shots
    • Travel/medical insurance is required to enter Vietnam, which includes COVID-19 treatment and 10,000 USD minimum coverage
    • The pre-pandemic Visa-waiver program has been re-instated for applicable countries only
  • Cambodia
    • Proof of full vaccination is required to enter Cambodia through all ports (including river borders). Non-vaccinated travellers must do a PCR test upon entering the country. As there is no PCR-testing facility available at the Vietnam-Cambodian border on the Mekong, Heritage Line requires passengers to be fully vaccinated and have official proof of vaccination (2 copies) at the time of boarding. If guests are unable to show proof of vaccination, Heritage Line reserves the right to refuse boarding with no refunds offered.
    • E-visas are NOT acceptable for the waterway border crossing from Vietnam to Cambodia. Heritage Line can arrange Cambodian Visa onboard for all passengers cruising from Vietnam to Cambodia (single entry, 1 month, 40 USD per person).
  • Laos
    • Travelers from most countries can apply online for a Laos eVisa, which is valid for entry at Vientiane and Luang Prabang International Airports as well as select land crossings
      • However, those entering Laos via the Chiang Khong (Thailand)/Huay Xai (Laos) land crossing will need to obtain a Laos visa-on-arrival
    • Must provide either proof of full COVID vaccination status OR proof of antigen test with negative result, taken within 48 hours prior to arrival in Laos
    • Though there are no vaccine or medical insurance requirements, we do recommend obtaining both prior to travel
  • Myanmar – to be updated
