New Arrival Policy for Vietnam – Passenger Entry Declaration
Starting from 15 April 2026, passengers arriving in Vietnam must provide a personal declaration prior to arrival through the official portal of the Immigration Department. This procedure starts with a pilot project at Ho Chi Minh Airport first and will be further expanded to other international airports in Vietnam. We recommend following the process of the online registration: https://prearrival.immigration.gov.vn/. Read more details here.
VISA
Please find essential VISA information below. For more details, please visit the visa section in our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).
Vietnam: Travelers can obtain a Vietnam Visa at the Vietnamese embassy in their home country or apply for a 30-day Vietnam E-visa online (if applicable for your nationality). Both visas are valid for river border crossing into Vietnam (to state a specific river port or river border location/name is not needed). For selected nationalities, there may be a special visa waiver program in place.
Cambodia: E-visas are not acceptable for the waterway border crossing from Vietnam to Cambodia. However, Heritage Line can arrange a Cambodian Visa-on-Arrival onboard for passenger nationalities who are entitled to a visa on arrival when cruising from Vietnam to Cambodia (single entry, 1 month, fee applies).
Laos: Travelers from most countries can apply online for a Laos eVisa (laoevisa.gov.la), which is valid for border crossings between Thailand and Laos on land and river. Please obtain your visa prior to your cruise departure, Heritage Line does not accept Visa-On-Arrival.
