Over the past weeks and months, some countries around the globe have achieved great success in dealing with the Coronavirus (most notably our travel destinations in Southeast Asia, along with some oversea markets such as Europe, Australia and New Zealand).
However, international travel is still full of uncertainties, particularly for the remainder of 2020 and most likely the early months of 2021. Therefore, Heritage Line has paused operations in all of our destinations and will resume cruising as follows:
|Upper Mekong [Laos]||The original planned launch of our new cruise destination Upper Mekong in early October 2020 will not be possible. The first-ever boutique, luxury ship in Laos, Anouvong now has its 3-night inaugural journey currently scheduled for 01 August 2021 from Luang Prabang to Huay Xai.|
|Ayeyarwady & Chindwin [Myanmar]||The destination of Myanmar is also taking a hard hit from Covid-19, leaving Heritage Line no choice but to pause cruising for a year from now until mid-August 2021. The first cruise will be our wonderful expedition up the Chindwin River, departing in Mandalay on 19 August 2021 for an unforgettable 11-Night sailing adventure that ends at the UNESCO Heritage Site of Bagan.|
|Halong Bay & Lan Ha Bay [Vietnam]|
Lower Mekong [Vietnam & Cambodia]
|For the most part, both Vietnam and Cambodia have either closed their borders or placed heavy restrictions on international travel. Heritage Line, therefore, has decided to close all departures in 2020 on the Lower Mekong River as well all cruises in Halong Bay and Lan Ha Bay. A big question remains as to when borders will re-open for international visitors and what the travel conditions will look like. These answers will determine the likelihood of offering cruises to our guests in early 2021. We will keep everyone updated as the situation develops.|
Updated departure dates can be found in the Rates & Departures section of our website.
