Starting early 2024, Heritage Line introduces optional and themed excursions with its lower Mekong cruises. Our regular cruise itineraries (7-, 4- or 3-Nights) includes diverse on-shore excursions that cater to cultural, historical, or handcraft themes to learn about the various facets the two countries Vietnam and Cambodia have to offer. With the optional tours, Heritage Line adding now some “icing on the cake”, offering the guests the opportunity to personalize and tailor a journey on the Mekong River with interesting and engaging themes on top of overall experience.

Culinary Excursion
For foodaholics, travelling Southeast Asia and the lower Mekong, the culinary-themed tours providing a hands-on insight into the local cuisines of Vietnam and Cambodia at certain ports of calls. Accompanied by a local English-speaking guide, guests have the chance to buy ingredients at markets, sneak into local family’s houses, and prepare and enjoy regional dishes together. These tours offer a taste of local food in a most authentic way and setting. After check-out from luxury cruise along the Mekong, one will know what is a “Nom Kruak” and a “Samlor Korko” is.
The culianry tours are complimentary and do not need to be booked in advance. The guests can choose on the ground whether they like to join cultural default tour or the food outing, both to be conducted as group tours.
Important to know: The food-themed excursion is exclusively available for cruise Lower Mekong bookings with the ship Heritage Line Jayavarman.
Cycling Excursion
Passengers seeking a more active exploration of the destination, can ride “off the beaten track” to get to know land, people and interesting local sites. The cycling outings are accompanied by a local English-speaking guide. Professional bicycles, safety equipment, and catering is provided during the tour. The cycling tours are conducted on mostly small, paved pathways, to delve deeply into the local life and communities. Average cycling distances range from 10 to 20km on mostly flat terrain, requiring a minimal level of fitness.
Conducted in small groups of a maximum of eight guests, cycling excursions must be pre-booked as an add-on package to the cruise booking (7-, 4-, or 3-Night). The cycling tours are subject to a surcharge starting at 280 USD per person for the 3- or 4-Night itinerary. For the most popular itinerary of 7-Night between Saigon-Siem Reap (vice versa), a total of eight cycling tours are offered at a price of 490 USD per person.
All the cycling excursions replace the default group excursion and are only available with cruise bookings aboard the ship Heritage Line The Jahan.

Solo Travellers pay a 50% supplement on the per person price.
Inclusions: Cycling helmet; local English speaking tour guide/accompany; drinking water, selected soft drinks and juices; cleaning of bikes after each tour; sight-seeing and entrances fees, stand-by vehicle (Tuk-Tuk, motorbike). Exclusions: accident or health insurance; any other service not stated under inclusions.
