Heritage Line is pleased to announce that on 17 August 2019, the new luxury vessel, Heritage Line Ylang, embarked successfully on her inaugural voyage in North Vietnam’s Gulf of Tonkin.
Amidst a sea of excitement and celebration, the fleet’s “Sensuous Belle” set sail through the serene waters of Lan Ha Bay, a quiet extension of the famous Halong Bay, on a new and exclusive 3-day/2-night itinerary which brings cruising in the region to a new level. Catering to a growing trend of travelers seeking a unique combination of well-being, active lifestyle and tailored destination experiences, this distinctive, themed journey incorporates a range of daily active and wellness experiences on- and offshore.
Excursions promote not just a healthy lifestyle but also offer exclusive in-depth explorations of Lan Ha Bay’s pristine areas. A leisure cycling tour discovers one of Cat Ba Island’s most pristine villages, nestled in a remote jungle valley. Here, guests meet and interact with the local inhabitants to gain insight into their daily lives, which have changed very little over the last century. Relaxed hiking through the lush Cat Ba Island National Park is another dynamic excursion that allows guests to get up close with the sights and sounds of Cat Ba. Guests also visit one of the last remaining authentic floating fishing villages at the southernmost tip of the bay.
Heritage Line’s “Senses of Lan Ha” cruise also includes a special half day for guests to choose their own activities: exploring the bay on kayak, swimming or relaxing on a picturesque island beach or enjoying the onboard spa offerings – all of these underscoring the journey’s emphasis on recreation.
The ship – Heritage Line Ylang
With just ten extravagant suites on board, all equipped with private balconies, Heritage Line Ylang is a ship which sets the benchmark for luxury cruising.
“This is a momentous occasion for us,” remarks Andreas Schroetter, Heritage Line’s Director of Sales and Marketing, “as Ylang is not only the first ultra-luxurious vessel in Lan Ha Bay sailing an exclusive 3-day itinerary, but also one of the first ships in this cruise destination which fully conceptualizes a journey focused on mindfulness and well-being.”
Onboard ambiance is accentuated by exquisite interior design, handcrafted art work and decor in all rooms and public areas. Room sizes range from 40 sqm (432 sqft) in the six Signature Suites to 50-54 sqm (549-581 sqft) in the four Regency Suites. Large panoramic doors opening onto expansive private balconies, in-cabin lounges, extravagant bathrooms including bathtubs equipped with soda water treatment systems and high-class amenities promise a luxurious stay aboard.
Shining a spotlight on the wellness theme is the vast spa area, occupying half of Heritage Line Ylang’s main deck. Three private spa rooms, a sauna, a steam bath and a wellness studio offer guests a variety of options to indulge. Top quality and organic spa products from French cosmetics brand, Thalgo, are used for various treatments. Daily Tai Chi and special singing bowl meditation sessions are offered in the studio or on the terrace deck.
Keeping with the idea of wellness, cuisine aboard Heritage Line Ylang exemplifies fine dining with a focus on healthy dishes and beverages. Guests can choose from a 5-course a-la-carte menu for lunch and dinner, served in the nearly 360-degree glass-surrounded restaurant or to the guest’s suite on request. The vessel also showcases a heated infinity-like pool on the terrace deck.
Heritage Line Ylang operates its 3-day “Senses of Lan Ha” itinerary all year-round (with a short off season from 12 August – 01 September 2020). Cruises start from 546 USD per person (Signature Suite). Included are full board dining, mineral water, tea, coffee, all excursions, English speaking guide, kayaking, and other activities as stated in the detailed program.
Cruise bookings can be made directly with Heritage Line or via any travel agent.
